This dramatisation focuses on the early years of Saint Francis of Assisi who sought greater communion with God by renouncing his family's riches to live the life of a beggar. Although the part-musical style of this film is not to everyone's taste, it does portray well the theme of self abandonment to the will of God. If your preference is for a more "down-to-earth" presentation of St. Francis' life, then we recommend the 1961 film 'Francis of Assisi' starring Bradford Dilman (also in stock).
